Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan Stabbed by Intruder in Mumbai Home, Hospitalized

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan sustained multiple stab wounds after an intruder broke into his 11th-floor apartment in Bandra (West), Mumbai, early Thursday morning. The attacker, who reportedly intended to commit burglary, fled the scene after a confrontation with Khan.

According to Bandra police, the incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Khan awoke to a noise and encountered the intruder, leading to a scuffle. Family members were present in the apartment at the time of the attack.

Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by his elder son, Ibrahim, and a caretaker around 3 a.m. Hospital COO Dr. Niraj Uttamani confirmed that Khan sustained six stab wounds, one of which is near the spine.

Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange is currently performing surgery on Khan. Two wounds are notably deep, with one near the spinal cord showing the presence of a foreign object in the CT scan. The other, on his left wrist, will require plastic surgery. While the injuries are not life-threatening, the full extent of the damage will be assessed post-surgery.

DCP (Zone X) Dikshit Gedam stated, “An unidentified individual entered Saif Ali Khan’s residence, leading to a scuffle in which the actor was injured. The investigation is ongoing.”

Bandra police and the Mumbai crime branch are examining how the intruder bypassed building security or possibly accessed the apartment from an alternative route. CCTV footage from the building is under review as part of the investigation.
