Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev was issued a warning for unsportsmanlike conduct during his second-round match at the 2025 Australian Open against American Learner Tien.
The incident occurred in the second set when Medvedev, frustrated by a poor serve, threw his racket toward his bench, striking an advertisement board. This action prompted the warning from the umpire.
Medvedev claimed the first set with a 6-3 victory. The winner of this match will go on to face French player Corentin Moutet in the third round.
Earlier in the tournament, Medvedev was fined up to $100,000 for damaging a racket and a camera during his first-round match. He remains hopeful that the penalty will be reduced.
