Adrien Brody secured his second Oscar for Best Actor

Adrien Brody secured his second Oscar for Best Actor on Sunday, earning recognition for his portrayal of an immigrant architect in the sweeping postwar epic, "The Brutalist."

With this achievement, Brody joins the distinguished ranks of actors who have won multiple times in this category, standing alongside cinematic legends such as Daniel Day-Lewis, Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins, Jack Nicholson, and Spencer Tracy.

Brody has previously spoken about how his own family history parallels that of his on-screen character, Laszlo Toth, a modernist architect. His mother, renowned photographer Sylvia Plachy, fled Hungary and journeyed across the Atlantic, a personal experience that deeply resonates with him.

"I understand a great deal about the repercussions of that on her life and her work as an artist," he shared with reporters during the Venice Film Festival.

This latest win makes Brody the first actor to receive two Best Actor Oscars from his first two nominations. His initial victory came in 2003 when, at just 29 years old, he became the youngest recipient of the award for his role in "The Pianist," where he depicted a Holocaust survivor.

Brody's filmography spans a wide array of projects, including frequent collaborations with Wes Anderson and work with esteemed directors like Woody Allen, Peter Jackson, Spike Lee, Barry Levinson, Terrence Malick, Roman Polanski, and Steven Soderbergh.

In addition to his critically acclaimed performances, Brody has also starred in commercially successful films such as "King Kong" and "Predators." Among his upcoming ventures is "Emperor," a historical action epic set in medieval times.

During his acceptance speech at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Brody reflected on the uncertainties of his profession. "Acting is a very fragile profession," he stated. "No matter where you are in your career, it can all go away. I think what makes this most special is the awareness of that."
